Privacy

Data collected

To create an account: name, email, WhatsApp, zone and password (hashed). To post a listing: name, WhatsApp number, email, listing content and photos, verification information (cadastral plan, folio real, plate) and, for vehicles, a photo of the Dekra report and of the marchamo. We do not ask for ID documents online. For an order (paid service or translator): name, WhatsApp, visit date and payment reference.

What is published

Name, content, photos and WhatsApp number (through the contact button). Email is never published. Folio real and plate numbers are not shown in full. Photos of the Dekra report and the marchamo are never published: only our automatic moderator and our team see them, and they are deleted when the listing is removed.

Use

Listing moderation (including by an artificial intelligence system hosted by Cloudflare), contact with the advertiser, fraud prevention. No data resale, no targeted advertising.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept while the listing exists, then up to 12 months for fraud prevention. You can remove your listing at any time with your private link, or ask us to delete your data.

Cookies and analytics

If you create an account, a single technical cookie keeps you logged in (30 days at most); it is deleted when you log out. Your password is stored hashed, never in plain text. The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Traffic is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless tool that does not collect data identifying you. No consent banner is therefore required.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and Costa Rica’s data protection law no. 8968, you can request access to, correction or deletion of your data, or object to its processing, by writing to canobay.adventure@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), which applies contractual safeguards for data transfers outside the European Union.
